The series was a satire/homage of 1970s and early 1980s educational videos and schools programmes, with a different scientific subject being discussed in each episode, or "modules" as they are referred to in the series. I've been waiting over a year to watch this movie. South African born, Vancouver-based director Neil Blomkamp is one heck of a writer, let alone a visual-effects kingpin. Filmed in Johannesburg, District 9 is not only creative but intelligent!

The main character Wikus blew me away with his idiosyncrasies, and the dialogue is so DAMN believable. It's a breath of fresh air to finally experience inexcusably one of the GREATEST sci-fi flicks since BLADE RUNNER! Read more about what inspired the movie title and premise here - District 6.
