EMEK

I am feelin' Erykah's NU album ART for RETURN OF THE ANKH by Israeli-American-Portland-based EMEK, The Thinking Man's Poster Artist!

An ethereal coral garden underwater, 3 moons, 3 children, metal armor = protection, keepin' the junk out, escape from the mind, tree of knowledge, fertile and free!!!

Emek's been toted as the man who revived the POSTER ART SCENE. The genius of visual content to go along with the muze!!! Remember all em psychedelic posters Bill Graham had done for the Fillmore circa 1960's in Frisco. Oh those Jimi Hendrix ones were KILLA! Check it!

I have ALWAYS felt so strongly about an artist's visuals being just as strong if not stronger than the muze. Our eyes are far more developed than our ears yeh?

Miz Fuze needs to find a craZy illustrator!!!

INSPIRATION: The Platform

Can ya believe that Courtesans skipped around in these sculptures back in 15th Century Venice? Some women tottered along on 22 inch CHOPINES until a maximum height of 11 inches was mandated by law. In a time when streets frequently doubled as sewers, platform shoes made imminent sense from keeping the CRAP away, but low and behold some of these stilts look a little like long turds!!! haha

Miz Fuze now realizes her platforms are NOT high enuf!

embrace the girl in YOU!

When Jackie appeared on American Bandstand, he was dressed as a woman, and Dick Clark never even knew! Today, he wouldn't have raised an eyebrow, but in 1963, an effeminate black man in spangles, makeup and eye shadow was quite the freak show in the eyes of the mainstream public.

Flavor of the week - dark chocolate with cherry tomato and salt. haha ;-P

Pic of the Day!

PixCell Elk by Japanese artist KOHEI NAWA. Quite remarkable how every glass bubble magnifies and intensifies the shape. A little bit like Damien Hirst but cuter I guess? Hmmm. Thanx to Princess Freesia for challenging my mind and heart with this one.

R.I.P Alexander McQueen

Miz Fuze mourns the loss of His Royal HIGH-ARTness. The darkness shimmering within. Why? She only desired to be famous so perhaps one magical day she could wear one of SINISTER creations. ;-( Sir. Philip Treacy holds everything for her now...

thou shall be released.

Dimlite – Roo (A dedication) from Ehstrawlogy Produkte on Vimeo.

This short piece from 2007 is/was a part of Dimlite's aborted 3rd album «Prismic Valuta Rising». Parts of named album will be released by Now-Again records in shape of the «Prismic Tops» EP in 2010, followed by an all-new album, later the same year.

This clip is NOT a digital animation. It was shot in real space, approximately 908'000 miles to the left of planet earth (PM for exact coordinates, it's a lovely place to spend holidays on your own). To achieve the original special quality of the images, a custom-built camera was used, made of spider eyes and straws.

Edit: If you WANT this track, it is available here:

SEKOYA DALAWA

SEKOYA - DALAWA LP by mizfuzemuze

Once upon a time, not too long ago, well like 4 yearz ago, 3 NERDZ put everything they had into an album by the name of DALAWA. It never saw the light of day on Canadian soil after getting high praise for their debut album 2 years before. [Yep had a whackload of CDs stored in my bedroom closet for a while!] Too abstract, not jazzy enuf, not commercial, um... Nevertheless a brave Japanese label by the name of CIRCULATIONS exclusively distributed it in 2007. Alas, available digitally via ITUNES and CDBABY!

Art wizardry by the one and only omniscient Spencer Keala Bowden.

Miz Fuze is extremely PROUD of this baby. The opening distorted guitar was a poke at Canada being a ROCK infested nation and how jazz muze could be wayyyyyyyy HEAVIER!!!

turn off the lights, light a candle...

for peace.

I am overwhelmed with joy, sadness, um...blankness...sometimes. I have this problem/blessing of feeling life too intensely.

Haiti is laying heavily on my shoulders let alone the aftermath of the tropical storms that hit my fam in the Philippines. Focus on the love.

Let's pray for the living. Help those find each other...family and friends...and children...that are lost...that they be rescued...and are safe.

Miz Fuze is playin' Teddy to help her soul feel at ease.

Song of the Day - Subterraneans

Reversed instrument sounds, saxophone, and multi-layered synthesizers from Brian Eno float underneath a moaned vocal that is worldless until about the final ninety seconds. The synthesiser melody is identical to a motif from Edward Elgar's "Nimrod", the 9th Enigma Variation.

"Subterraneans" invoked the misery of those in East Berlin during the Cold War. According to Bowie, people who "got caught in East Berlin after the separation - hence the faint jazz saxophones representing the memory of what it was."

My boy was watching a Kraftwerk doc last nite and hence stumbled on Bowie's track, it stopped me dead. A similar feeling I got when I first heard Eivind Aarset's 'Entrance U-Bahn' on Electronique Noire, and Radiohead's 'Everything in it's Right Place'.

Miz Fuze is soundlessly infatuated. Feeling a shift in depth.

...visionary. ART OF MATI.

This is my little bro's fave surrealist artist. Oh and mine!

How lucky us kidz were to have our beloved Popz expose us to Miles' Bitches Brew and Santana's Annunciation. These powerful albums along with their unearthly cover art surely helped attract us to the divine essence.

Click on the picz if ya want to see them full screen for detailing. UNBELIEVABLE! And you thought Dali was trippy? Meet Mati's online gallery here!
