i dream of dancing buildings

If ya happen to be strolling along the streets of Hamburg, search for the fluctuations in wallscape at the Kunsthalle. I've alwayz viewed architecture as music frozen in different heights and depths. With a little bit of imagination, buildings do move...

Fredag - ON THE MIC!

Miz Fuze sez let her know if ya wanna come this Friday, she has guestlist for a few speciale friendz!

Nikkita and I were up to no good today. With the online assistance of a speciale boy on the otherside of the planet and some fireworks, we improvised and surprized our homegurl KISSEY with a one of a kind tofu icecream cake with mango cayenne dark choco!

"Look at the sky: that is for you. Look at each person's face as you pass on the street: those faces are for you. And the street itself, and the ground under the street, and the ball of fire underneath the ground: all these things are for you..." Miranda July sez it sweetly.

Miz Fuze sez make a little treat for someone you love.

"Giving up my i-pod for a Walkman"

When the Sony Walkman was launched, 30 years ago this week, it started a revolution in portable music. But how does it compare with its digital successors? The Magazine invited 13-year-old Scott Campbell to swap his iPod for a Walkman for a week.
I still treasure my cassette tapes, how about you? Oh how I used to memorize the length of tunes in highspeed so I knew exactly how long I had to ffrwd for. I had the early 90's model below. Antishock and waterproof!!! My sturdy musical yellow submarine. ;-) Click here, no right here ----> BBC STORY for the cute commemoration of our bestfriend mr. walkman!

A continental girl so fine!

I know, I know, I just had to fill ya in on one more track that has helped formulate the MIGHTY HEARTFULL FORCE WITHIN!

Capturing all my thoughts in sound has helped me rediscover all the songs I was so passionate about as a child. I've been sittin' lotus position, well not really, but it sounded profound, eyes closed, cold can of rootbeer in hand, feelin' what it is about specific tunez that make the blood pump thru my ventricles faster. Introduction? check. Syncopated synth bass? check. THE chorus? Heck yeh! Poetry? check. Progression, vox effects...

I remember interpretive dancin' to CHAKA's "Hold Her" and my Popz bustin' me mid wall-fling during the chorus. Like Swan lake gone wrong! haha It was always the B-sides that blew me away on so many albums. Hold Her, Caught in the Act, and Chinatown. Again, I had to upload it for ya...

VESTA's "Here Say" from the VESTA 4 U LP is one of my fave trax of all time! [Nah, not from the one above, I just liked the cover for that one more. hehe] Girl look like, oh, look at him drivin' up in the driveway...hehe. So much attitude and sincerity. I couldn't find it anywhere so I had to upload if for ya'll to diggity.

Miz Fuze just finished some radio dropz! 1 more ballad "Feel Like" and uptempo track "The Riddum" to record and DEBUT is DONE! ;-D

I have been obsessed with BASS frequencies since I was a baby. From the contrabass, to the upright bass, to electric bass, last nite was BASS HEAVEN! First to see PATRIK BOMAN's 7 PIECE MACHINE at Lilla Jazz, then over to Moderna Museet to check SMV!!! STANLEY CLARKE, MARCUS MILLER & VICTOR WOOTEN featuring keyboardist Federico Pena and drummer Derico Watson! Major thanx to my fam sub-ID for getting the band to hook me up with a pass. hehe

3 BASS PROPHETS makin' love to their wood and simply transcendin' the physical. Stanley's been on almost every life changin' jazz record, from George Duke to Pharoah Saunders. Marcus Miller with Miles Davis & Luther Vandross. I'm still a little over the moon about it all hence my brain's lack of focus. The highlight for me by far was the JOLLY Victor Wooten! He's got that funky uncle vibe like Bootsy! Check a quick snip of his solo I caught for ya'll here!

Oh and Derico is NUTZ! Kinda like a younger Dennis Chambers. ;-D

"I hope this mix stands out from everything else people are hitting you with. Instead of playing all the obvious classics we all know and love, I pulled together all the remixes, remakes, re-redits, b-sides, and demos I could find. Ganguro oh elmo...

Was reading the world news this morn, alot of shiyut happening around the globe yet again. Bombs, floods, etc...;-( Got quite depressed, until I came across the article and vid on Japan's Fashion Rebellion Goes West.

Manba and Yamanba are GANGURO extremists, an underground youth culture in Japan which makes a rebellious fashion statement against traditional rules on Asian beauty. I've been intrigued by these ladiez kinda-lookin-like-a-photo-negative for yearz! I'm even more fascinated now that British teens are becoming fanatics almost 2 decades later. Oh and dudez are in on it too!

Miz Fuze sez get that spray tan on and silver-fy your hair!

Ti Amo! Elefante Rosso

On an underground jazz tip, I had to let ya'll know that VENEZIA is more importantly, hehe, the BIRTHPLACE to a nu label & club ELEFANTE ROSSO!!! See their blog for their latest event, PLANETS: SPIRITUAL WORLD JAZZ. These fellas are SUPA DOPIO and give us all the more reason to delve into the art and culture separate from the gondolas and all that glass blowing. ;-P

Miz Fuze gives bday shouts HEAVIER than a 10,000 pound elephant to Rabih & Crew!

Did I tell ya already that Italian artistes ELECTRICUTE MY WORLD? Well, don't get me started on La Biennale di Venezia's MAKING WORLDS! Ya gotz to go to the 53rd International Art Exhibition that takes over Venice from June till November. Innovators from Jerusalem, Santa Monica, Mumbai, Milan...

My soulful bud Sebby of Soulmates Stockholm posted some picz up yesterday of his explorations and I just had to share one of em witcha.

Ain't it mind expansive? At first I thought it was a drawing BUT it ain't! It's a wire sculpture, lookin' like a mitochondria or an atom or someting!

AND if ya really want to overload the synapses with inspiration, go the last week of September and you can also experience THE BODY OF SOUND! Full on futurist orchestras! ;-D

Kissey BBQ + Nickodemus

"Let me kiss yo' mind, bathe your soul...IN A NOCTURNAL SUNSHHINE!" If ya can guess the tune, I'll send ya some Swedish licorice...FOR REAL!

TACK SÅ MYCKETS to my sweet sis KISSEY and her goofy sis Christel for breaking my Swedish lake virginity before the Raw Fusion gig! A wee bit of a shutter bug I am, hence the delay, no skimpy shotz here tho. :-(

Salmon on the barb, home-made rhubarb tartz, yum yum, CHAMPAGNE, snails and slugz, GAS PANTILOONS, Darling Nikkita, then on the mic at RAW FUSION with NICKODEMUS! I gotta say I've never met such a versatile dj other than Alex Barck of Jazzanova. Salsa, Balkan, Afro-Indian, and HipHop all in 2 hourz and not a single lost soul on the dance floor! A HEAVENLY day with rambunctious folkz. Must not forget speciale guest, YUKARI-CHAN from Copenhagen! Tack for the early morn coca cola. Can I get a cherry?

FLY em recordz like a UFO!

I WISH!!! Check the VOID LP player by Korean designer Rhea Jeong.

"The record player uses a carrier and dock outfitted with a magnetic and auto-calibrating control system which carries the LP into thin air as it is playing music. A self-running record player shaped in the form of a red sphere, contains a needle, amplifier and speaker, spins around the record, bringing the music to life."

Gonna put on my bikini...

and slip around to APHEX TWIN's Windowlicker!!! Can ya believe it's been over 10 yearz since that track first dropped on our glutenous maximuseses? And who could forget that FREAKIN' music vid that left us all speechless. Directed by the one and only Chris Cunningham.

Lick the full length vid right here kiddie winkz!

Miz fuze must thank IisiJii and Prefuse 73 for takin' her back.
